Finally we have authentic Japanese food in Malmö. Amazing quality of food and the service is top notch. The atmosphere is calm and airy. Less is more. I see myself coming back many times. Highly recommended! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: kr 1,000+ Vegetarian options: The tempura is vegetarian.

My husband and I recently dined at Koba Lounge, and our experience left us with mixed feelings. We were seated right next to the DJ booth, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the evening as we had hoped. Based on the restaurant’s website, we had anticipated a more refined, high-end atmosphere, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet those expectations. The food was good and reminded me of the quality you’d find in everyday dining in Japan; delicious and thoughtfully prepared. I truly appreciated the opportunity to speak with the owner and one of the Japanese staff members, as their presence added a genuine and authentic touch to our visit. That said, I believe there’s room for improvement to enhance the overall dining experience. Some staff members appeared quite casual in their presentation, which didn’t quite match the luxurious ambiance that the restaurant aims for. The interior also felt unfinished in certain areas, and details like paper napkins and plastic chopsticks didn’t quite align with the premium pricing. At this price point, many establishments put extra effort into creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but I sincerely hope that more attention will be given to the interior and hospitality aspects in the future to better align with the restaurant’s ambitions and to provide guests with a truly memorable experience.
