Small and understated from the outside, Koha sits on Station Road in Redcar and immediately surprises you once you step inside. The interior spans three floors, with modern decor that feels genuinely high-quality, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Drinks are typical restaurant prices. The arancini starter was a real highlight and well worth ordering. I went for the burger, which looked great on the plate, though it leaned more towards the traditional style than the smashed style I was expecting. The flat iron steak was tasty and came in a generous portion, with chips, onion rings, and mushrooms. We both left well and truly full. We’ll be back. A very pleasant place to eat. Good food. Good service. Staff friendly and work hard. Good choice of mains and sides are good too to go with the mains if you want. Thoroughly recommend it. We were given a table at the top, on the second floor (made me puff!) and service was slightly slow but very cheerful and attentive. Food was delicious: freshly cooked with great ingredients and we didn't think we would have room for a dessert, but we were pleased we did! I thought I would feel uncomfortably full but afterwards we were both fine, and pleasantly surprised at the lowish cost of our meal. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
