We visited Kukina Turkish Bakery in Edinburgh and had a nice experience overall. The place itself was lovely and comfortable, and it was a nice spot to sit and relax. The customer service was also friendly and welcoming. The food took quite a while to arrive, and unfortunately, there was no Turkish tea available, which was a little disappointing as we were really looking forward to it. As for the food, I would say it was okay to good, but unfortunately it wasn’t a “wow” for me. I think the atmosphere and customer service were the highlights of our visit rather than the food. Overall, it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy a relaxed time, but I think there is room for improvement with the food and service speed. spinach feta borek lacking filling and flavour, quite disappointing the borek was also a bit underbaked. the new layout makes it difficult to see all of the products and communicate with the staff. it’s a shame the baklava has been taken out of original baking dish and put onto a plate, this inevitably will affect quality. the walnut baklava wasn’t very nutty, mostly pastry and syrup. however service is always very nice! Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

This is an amazing little bakery that I hadn't even seen during my many strolls down Leith Walk over the past two weeks. Today, however, I looked across the street and saw all this amazing pastry in the window and I just had to cross over and see what it was all about. Boy howdy, am I glad I did (even though I hate crossing the street here). I got three items today: two boreks (one with feta and spinach, one with feta and olives), and a raspberry flapjack. I can't describe just how delicious each and every item tasted. You could tell the phyllo dough was handmade with love. The flavor of the olives paired with the soft, rich cheese couldn't have been more perfectly balanced. The spinach tasted fresh and delicious, with a lovely balance of spices and, of course, fresh feta cheese. I'd never had a flapjack before, but I'd been wanting to try one ever since seeing the flapjack challenge on that one season of Bake-Off. Welp, I think I have probably been ruined for any other flapjack out there. It was scrumptious. Not too sweet, and so much more tender than I expected. I thought I might save a little for my husband, but alas. We will just have to return tomorrow for more! Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
