Having searched the strip for the cheapest price of a double; (due to it being the end of the night so people had limited money), the rep at la bamba bar told us they had €5 doubles. We stopped here and all headed to the bar, the first two of my friends were served the doubles that they ordered for €5 as promised, however when a third friend went to buy her double she was told that it was more than €5, having decided that it was too expensive, and attempting to tell the barmaid that her friends had just bought the same for €5, she requested her money back. The barmaid refused to either give her the money back, or give her the drink that she had poured. Another friend intervened and also requested the money back. At this point the barmaid emptied the drink into another glass spilling it everywhere, topped it up with lemonade and said “here this is a single for €5” aggressively. Again my friend refused the drink and requested the money back. At this point both parties were quite heated in the exchange, however the barmaid then decided to throw both the glass and drink over my friend who’d been asking for her money back. Security came over and did nothing to help the situation choosing to ignore our complaints. The barmaid then threw another glass that was full, hitting the back of my hand as I knocked it out of the way so it wouldn’t have hit my friend. Had it have hit my friend in the face it would have done some serious harm, as it cut my hand and left me with a substantial bruise. The two friends who had been attempting to purchase the drink both then left, the barmaid then ran out from behind the bar to try and chase after them; having to be restrained by people in order to stop her from leaving the premises. At least two people were left hurt and security did nothing to help. My friend also did not get her money back or a drink. It was a disgusting encounter, and I have never seen anyone within hospitality behave like it (I have worked in the hospitality industry for over five years). The escalation of the situation was due to the aggressive nature of the barmaid in question, and I could not believe that she behaved in this way towards a customer. Very disappointed, we will not be returning.
