Updating my review one year later after they've been in the neighborhood and established for a year and I will say the food is even better. The prices have gone up but it's understandable because everything's gone up and they have a kids menu now Food is good. One of the best decisions I made this year was moving to Sanford - especially since now I'm closer to La Famiglia Italiana. Thank you, Jamie, for being an absolutely wonderful server (and fellow New Englander). This is the PERFECT classic, charming, casual Italian restaurant. I am, by nature, most picky about Italian food. The basics have to be right - bread, gravy, pasta, and (preferably) the salad. Nail those and it's highly likely your proteins will be just as good. The portions here are as big as the flavor. They've switched over to knots from bread slices and the garlic is strong in just the right way. My salad was very fresh - especially the black olives and cherry tomatoes. By the time the Veal Marsala and Spaghetti with Marinara arrived, I'd sworn fealty to La Famiglia. My God, they even had my favorite wine - Sangue di Giuda. Next, I'll check out the Chicken Gorgonzola or a pie. Oh, the tiramisu? A "little death roll your eyes in the back of your head" good.
