Had a superb dining experience at LaPita by Chef Sam.Ro. Curated a Poblacion food crawl for a visiting friend and started with LaPita. It was a delight when Raul greeted us and made us feel welcome from the get go. Raul is Israeli and had been here for a little under 2 years specifically to run the front end of the restaurant. He, his uncle who used to manage a separate business in Dusit Thani and Chef Sam run this restaurant. Raul's family in Israel has an olive garden and they manufacture premium Olive Oil and this is what is being used by LaPita. In fact, most of their ingredients are sourced from Israel. Because we were having a food crawl, we only ordered a few dishes but BOY!! did they leave a mark We had Hummus with Pita (₱460) and a mix of Beef and Salmon Arayes (₱620). Never had better hummus and pita in the Philippines. Their Pita is baked fresh daily. Made of wheat, it is soft and pillowy with the right chew and a bit of charred flavor, exhibiting their brand. It is the perfect companion for their other food offerings. The Beef Arayes was flavored well and is a standout. The Salmon came with dill, tomato and Greek yogurt for another flavor bomb. These were accompanied by fries and a salad. Raul went the extra mile by giving us free Israeli Olives (both dark and green) which exhibited contrasting flavor profiles but provided a good flavor twirl in between bites of our other dishes. He also let us sample their superb Frozen Rose Lemonade which had hints of rosewater, basil and lemon. What a joy to dine here. Will be back for a full meal next time. Eyeing their Beef Ribs or Lamb Shank, the Greek Fries and Burnt Cheesecake. Can't wait. Highly recommended!!
