Labor Day weekend: Service was amazing. Very clean, awesome tasting food. Flat-lander/leaf peeper (tourist ) priced. Portions were great for my 2 other guests, although I ordered a cheese steak sandwich felt they were a bit skimpy on the meat & cheese (subway gives u more meat and cheese ) For the price, they could have not been so tacky & used more meat. Place was clean, no waiting for table, server was amazing and never let my drink go empty. I'd go back I would just order something else. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30 Recommendation for vegetarians: Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection, Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: My mom had a Cobb salad. She's not easy to please at 84, and she said it was "sooo good"!! Kid-friendliness: Almost too kid friendly! There was a group of 10 and their kids were running around all over the place. If u have kids tho it's a great place to go and not worry about the place getting annoyed with the parents Wheelchair accessibility: I'm in a walker and I rolled right up and inside. The entrance is in the back not on the main St Large Parking lot in back Was Easy to park next to the entrance doorwith my walker it was great

We came in for a drink and appetizers. The drink menu needed to be updated. Several beers in the list are no longer offered. The parmesan garlic fries were not fully cooked and crispy. We are saying this was a fluke occurrence. Last time the food was incredible and that is why we stopped again while in the area. If you are a firefighter or support them the atmosphere is incredible. You will spend your entire time finding unique items, old toys, t-shirts, patches, pictures, and uniform items. We will be back. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30

Ladder 1 Grill is definitely one of the more unique restaurants in the Barre-Montpelier area simply because of the atmosphere alone. The restaurant is located inside a historic firehouse, and the firefighter memorabilia throughout the building makes it feel like you're dining inside a piece of local history. It's cozy, family-friendly, and has a lot of character that you don't find in many restaurants. The atmosphere is honestly the biggest reason to visit. The menu is huge and offers a little bit of everything, from burgers and sandwiches to comfort food classics. The food itself is decent and portions are fair, but for me it wasn't necessarily anything memorable. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out enough that I'd specifically crave it later. The staff was friendly and the service was good, which definitely added to the experience. Overall, I'd recommend visiting at least once for the atmosphere and history of the building. It's a fun local spot with a lot of charm, even if the food itself wasn't my favorite in the area. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian offerings: Not sure
