I was really excited that Pierre’s was reopening in Newport but it only lasted for 2 minutes after stepping back through the doors. I waited for nearly 10 minutes at the front desk even though it wasn’t busy, nobody even acknowledged me even though the staff looked at me several times. Eventually after being shown to my table which you can’t choose what side of the restaurant you sit I was presented with my breakfast. I ordered a pastry which was harder than a brick, which they replaced with another brick. My wife’s breakfast was cold and not worth the price paid. Sadly unless they have a real sort out it will be closed soon especially when the menu, quality of food and value for money in plenty of other restaurants within 5 minutes walk are in a different class. Sadly won’t be back. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We were walk ins on a random Thursday evening, all the tables were full but we were quickly given a table in the bar. Staff were friendly, manager was excellent and on the ball. Harriet on the bar was friendly and had great energy. Cocktails were great( thanks Harriet) on the 2 for £12 deal. The French martini might be my favourite ever cocktail. We ordered from the small plates menu and enjoyed it all. It’s so good to have Pierre’s back in Newport, and great to see it so busy.
