We had lunch at Leon Bianco for Easter Monday. The restaurant staff welcomed us kindly and satisfied our request to be able to eat away from the front door, without any problem. We sat down and the table 'danced'; I asked the waiter if I could stop him and he didn't hesitate to solve the problem, in fact he jokingly replied that nothing is straight in Venice, even making me laugh, which never hurts. We had cichetti as a starter and a mixed fried fish with polenta and stewed cuttlefish as a main course; Everything is delicious and the portions are generous. The very soft fish, nothing to do with the usual dry fried foods and with two types of fish or shellfish. The cuttlefish were delicious, I made the cuttlefish in the sauce. The price is in line with the quality and quantity of what we ate and then we are in Venice. Overall, I would go back and definitely recommend it. Weather & space permitting, I always prefer a restaurant's outdoor seating; the surroundings make you feel a part of that city in a way that sitting within four walls doesn't. This summer we had an early dinner at Osteria León Bianco & the back patio was absolutely lovely. Trees and sunlight filled the empty spaces where there were no old, narrow buildings. He ordered a mixed grill of 4-5 different meats. There was a mystery item on his plate (we overheard the party next to us debating what it could be, as well); we all guessed it was fish, but it turned out to be polenta cake! My spaghetti with marinara was quite good. Sauce was balanced, both sweet & savory. I noticed our waiter giving complimentary limoncello to those ordering dessert. Next time I'll stick around for dessert!
