An excellent restaurant. Our waitress was charming, and her English was perfectly adequate for conveying what she needed to say, if, and when we had difficulties with our French. We chose the A La Carte menu (as seen in the photo), apologies for not providing photos of our courses. The main menu had a small number of options to choose from (the way a restaurant should be, in my opinion, so the chef can focus on execution perfection). We had a Mouge Bouche course before the starter. The food was delicious and the chef came out with the A La Carte menu on a wooden stand and talked us through it. We were taken care of when need be and left to our own company when appropriate. A sign of attentive, intuitive, and competent service. I personally feel as though you can tell when a chef takes pride in what they do, and this was a meal, that for me was made with the pursuit of excellence and love of ones craft. I'd probably summarise it as a meal that is relatively complex to execute, but for the diners experience it appears simple, subtle and refined in taste, and yet it wasn't overly fussy to the point of becoming pretentious or ostentatious. It felt like a balanced menu from a highly accomplished and modest head chef. My parents and I came away both highly satisfied and thoroughly happy to have dined there. Frankly delightful. I'll also note, several French families pulled up at around the same time as us, while we were dithering in the car park over whether to eat at Les Fables, or elsewhere (thankfully we didn't leave), they went straight in. The saying, go where the locals eat definitely applies. Their decisiveness was telling. Thank you for making our short time with you thoroughly enjoyable.
