We were at Lille Herbern for a dinner with some friends one evening in August. We had reserved a table in advance, as you have to in order to be guaranteed a place on a summer evening. The small ferry ride over to the island is pleasant and the driver is pleasant, even though it is a very short trip. This evening there was a work event that had taken all the seats outside, so we were placed inside. It was certainly good enough, and it's a nice place inside too. I ate pork neck while the rest of the company had shellfish platters. The pork neck was good and so were the vegetables and the sauce that came with it. I had the impression that the shellfish platter was also good, although you can get a better shellfish platter elsewhere, such as Signalen på Nesodden or Solsiden. The service was variable, as someone in the company had to request gluten-free bread more than four times and wait for almost 45 minutes before it was served. It dragged the experience down. It was a pleasant evening as well and the location is unique (although Bygdøy is out of the center and a bit difficult to get home from in the evening). Lille Herbern still has some work to do to get more stars, and next time I'm going out on a summer evening I'll probably prefer to go somewhere else in Oslo. But a plus is that you are allowed to bring your dog to the restaurant if you sit outside! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: kr 700–800 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
