Review of Little Italy, Tyler, Texas An Uber driver recommended Little Italy to us as we were passing by, saying it was an excellent restaurant that had been around for many years. Since it was close to the house we had rented, we decided to try it for dinner. The place itself is pleasant and clean. The decor is simple but inviting, the service was warm and quick, and the price was reasonable, about $20 per person for a main dish. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Whatever this restaurant may be, its connection to Italian cooking seems purely accidental. It was clear from the food that whoever is cooking in the kitchen has very little understanding of how pasta should be prepared. It started with the drinks. We ordered sparkling water and were brought an already opened bottle, with about a third missing, and no carbonation left at all. Then came the starters: a few lettuce leaves with dressing, presented as a salad, and a “soup of the day” whose intended flavor we could not identify. Floating in it were pieces of pasta that had clearly been cooked forever, turning soft and unpleasant. The main course was pasta with meat sauce. To their credit, at least they did not call it Bolognese. The sauce tasted like pale, thawed ground meat mixed with industrial tomato sauce. To give it any flavor at all, we had to drown it in cheese that was certainly not Parmesan, plus a lot of salt. But the real disaster was the pasta itself. The “angel hair” pasta had been cooked to death and turned into a mushy, gluey mess of noodles. Al dente is clearly not a concept here. The restaurant presented it as homemade pasta, but I doubt anyone with even basic knowledge of pasta-making would serve something this watery, bland, and inauthentic. It honestly felt as though no one in the kitchen had taken even an online course in cooking pasta. It was that bad. Not recommended at all. This place never misses! I was able to have a conversation with owner very nice and attentive guy! We have had the Spanish lasagna with the Alfonzo sauce 10/10. Their pizza also 10/10 and my toddler loves their rolls and their pepperoni and black olives kids pizza. This is our go to when it comes to Italian food-No denying we will go back each time! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Spinach Lasagna Lunch

just had lunch here, ordered small pizza, WORST PIZZA, I HAVE EVER HAD. the crust was so soggy & greasy you couldn't hold it without the ingredientes falling off. They charge $1.00 for each additional topping I ordered bell p, onions, pepperoni & hamburger, you had to hunt to find any hamburger or onions. After eating 1 1/2 slices I asked the waiter if he would take it back & have them put it back in the oven & try to crisp it up. He brought it back the same as it was so I brought it home thinking I can put in in an iron skillet on low heat & make it a little crisp. I will not go back to Little Italy Restaurant ever again. I give it a minus 5 stars.
