Friday 5:20 pm Party of 2 Dine in My friend and I arrived at The Loft and were surprised to see a line of approximately 14 people standing outside in the heat waiting to be seated. I phoned the restaurant earlier in the day to make reservations, but was told, "You don't need reservations unless there are 6 or more in your party." After hearing that, I didn't feel the need to make a reservation. Approximately 20 minutes later, my friend and I were still standing in line which hadn't budged yet. In an attempt to ignore the heat, we joked and laughed with the others in line (a party of 4, a young couple, and a single man); they, too hadn't made reservations as they were informed they weren't necessary. After another 15 minutes of waiting, the 'party of 4' got out of line and headed for their car. The man of said group informed us that if we didn't have reservations, it would still be an hour wait to be seated. My friend and I decided to leave as did the young couple; after all, we had already been in line more than 1/2 hour. It would've been nice had an employee stepped outside to inform those of us in line about the additional hour wait when they noticed a line forming. One such employee with an apron on was noted earlier standing in the street observing those of us in line. Should I decide to return, I'll definitely make a reservation; but after reading some of the other reviews about the poor service, that may not happen! Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Poor service. Checked to get reservation for 2 at 5:30pm. We were told we'd have to wait outside and couldn't sit at the bar. Said our wait should be about 45 minutes. After 50 minutes a gal came out to look for another party and noticed we were the only ones still outside. She said, "Oh, go ahead and come on in and I'll seat you." It was like she forgot us. When we got inside she asked for our name again and I pointed in her book and said the only name you still have on your waitlist. She seated us and got us a water and menus. We ordered within 15 minutes. After about 15 minutes she brought out our salads. We waited an additional hour before being told by the waitress multiple times she was continually checking on our order. Mind you, we just ordered chicken Alfredo and chicken parmesan. When she came back the next time I asked her to tell me honestly how much longer she assumed it would be for our food. She said at least another 45 minutes to an hour. I told her we were leaving. She quickly got us a bill for a coke and the two salads that were to have accompanied our meal. Several other guests left as well with no meal after waiting the same timeframe.
