An addition to our favorite list for Bruges! Very Belgian with a twist. We (my wife, daughter of 6 and I) had a terrific experience at Lokkedize last night. Suitable for young children, they serve children's portions for spaghetti bolognese and lasagna. No fries ;) No reservations, walk-in only. Come early. Atmosphere is warm, relaxed, typical Bruges. A cafe style place with a bar. Service is handled by the restaurant keeper, and by him alone. Very friendly, attentive and extremely fast in service. Kitchen is Belgian combined with Mediterranean dishes, lasagna, spaghetti, moussaka, mezze, kebab and shawarma pita. The menu is not very large, but will suit most. Have: shrimp balls (yum!) and the Lokkedize boules (small meatballs, Greek style with tzatziki). Salad with shrimp croquettes, big and tasty. Calamari was good, large portion for a starter. Starter portions are generous. Have: Chardonnay, very nice. Local beers, Gouden Carolus from tap (heavy dark, sweet), Lokkedize tripel from tap (their local beer, quite nice). Vegetarian options: Limited Parking: The best way to park is at Parking 't Zand. With evening rate it only costs 1 to 3 euros in total. From the garage it is a 5-minute walk to Lokkedize Kid-friendliness: Cozy atmosphere, no problem if there is some noise, watching tablet. Children's portions for some dishes, some bread. No separate children's menu, no fries.
