It took about an hour and a half for us to receive our food. One of my kids never even got their food. When we asked about it, the girl rolled her eyes and heavily huffed and sighed and then walked away. Our server was actually pretty nice and was pretty helpful compared to the rest of the staff. She told us that they were getting the food to go for us. We ended up getting a receipt for one amount and they brought our credit card receipt back and it had a different amount and our itemized receipt was gone. They told us there was a $4 fee to use a debit card to pay, but, the math still didn't add up. I didn't know why we were being charged extra dollars when nobody else at our table was being charged extra to use a debit card at a business. If you want terrible food that comes out unedible, very, very, very, very, slowly, and terrible service then this is the place to go. I will never eat here again even if it was the last business open on the planet. I run a restaurant so I really try to be understanding when I go out to eat. By far this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had going out to eat. We did have a party of about 15 people but there were two other tables in the whole entire restaurant. The servers were loudly upset that we were still there at 8:00. But my party had been there since about 6:30. No one got any of their food until after 8:20. AVOID THIS PLACE. This restaurant is right on Highway 42 in McDonough. It's in an older (1950s vintage) building right on the highway. On the inside, which is modest, you can converse in private in a booth or be in a large dining room, which is good on Saturday nights when they have Karaoke. Los Aviña has become our family's place to go for great Mexican food, good, congenial service, and a good time, especially on a Saturday night. Their food portions are quite large. Most entrees are more than you will finish, and you'll end up taking home some of their delicious food. Their cocktails are imaginative and more than adequate. Their Texas Margarita is a swimming pool of tequila. My favorite food there is the shrimp, but I haven't had anything to eat in Los Aviña that wasn't prime eating. I would and do highly recommend that you stop at Los Aviña for lunch or dinner, if you get the chance. Because of an anticipated road widening of Highway 42/US 23, they are going to be losing their present location, so they are looking for a new location now. But, regardless of where they are located at any one point in time, guaranteed good food and drink are to be had there, as well as a great good time during Karaoke nights on Saturdays.
