Food is slightly overpriced for the quality/quantity alone, but considering the location/view, it still felt worth it. Great views of the harbor, good quality food, and attentive service (even though our waiter comically kept having to tell us each new beverage choice was actually out of stock, and accidentally spilled a drink on my friend, they were very nice, comped us the wine and gave us a free dessert to apologize, and checked in and refilled water glasses very often). Definitely would recommend at least one to people visiting East Boston. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60

The ambience here is excellent. Stunning views of the Boston skyline, and I can only imagine how gorgeous the outdoor seating will be once the weather picks up. A heads up though: parking is a real challenge, so arriving at least 10 minutes before your reservation is a must. Service was slow. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and this was a packed Wednesday evening. The cocktails, despite the glowing reviews, were decent but not remarkable. I’ve had better in Boston. The food, however, is where this place earns its reputation. We tried several dishes and were impressed across the board. The pasta in mushroom broth was cooked perfectly, the pizza had a beautiful char, and the focaccia was so buttery it practically melted. The arancini was a standout too, though the portion size felt a little small for the price. A gorgeous spot with great food and views. Finish the night with a walk nearby and you’ll have no regrets. We dined at MIDA on Monday evening with a 7:30 reservation. The food was excellent and truly the highlight of the night. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our server was not very friendly, and the overall interaction felt awkward throughout the meal. For a restaurant of this caliber, his appearance also felt unprofessional—wearing a casual T-shirt and having messy hair—which stood out in a negative way. We were a party of six and added one additional guest. While we understand that last-minute changes can be inconvenient, we were seated very tightly in a booth despite noticing other tables that appeared to be available, which made the experience uncomfortable. Additionally, the server randomly asked whose birthday it was. When we asked if the restaurant does anything for birthdays, his response was a blunt “Noooooo,” which came across as rude and dismissive. The interaction felt unnecessary and slightly ignorant, and it left us feeling uncomfortable. Overall, the food was excellent, but the service and seating experience took away from what could have been a great evening.
