Travelling from A Coruna to Guimaraes on a Sunday, by chance we stopped in Tui when many eateries were closed. However, Juan and his staff at Miss Matilde welcomed us as if we were locals - although our Spanish language skills said otherwise. Juan and his team offered excellent service and there was live music on offer too. We had a huge and tasty portion of padron pepper, fabulous scallops grilled with olive oil, garlic, and parsley followed a tasty roast chicken plate with potatoes and salad. With two glasses with wine each and espressos to finish we spent only 30 euros! It was an unexpected and delightful feast. The team at Miss Matilde's were very happy to accommodate food allergies; not every restaurant in Spain that we ate at was willing to be so accommodating so we were very appreciative. Tui was a very pretty place to take a break and have lunch. Should we be in the area again, we would visit Miss Matilde's. Price per person: €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Dietary restrictions: One of us has an allergy to milk and milk products.
