This cafe is quaint, comfortable, and very chill. I went for a late lunch, and felt welcomed and well attended. The wait staff was very thoughtful and knew the menu like the back of their hand. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection, Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Most of the menu is vegan or vegetarian with a few pescatarian options. I think there are also a couple chicken and beef side things, but mostly it's vegetarian or vegan. Dietary restrictions: Given much of the menu as vegetarian or vegan, most dietary restrictions religiously should be fine. I'm not so sure if you have a nut allergy. If you are on a strict carnivore diet, this place will not work well, but they do have meat if you need it.

Seriously a hidden gem that provides vegan, vegetation, and pescatarian options that are filling even for those of us who don’t have dietary restrictions. I was super impressed with the salmon cakes and love that my friends who don’t eat meat or animal products had so many options instead of a quarter of the menu that is more of an afterthought than an offering. Chill atmosphere too which is great for solo dining - definitely will come back. MJ'S café 5162 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 Guess what? I'm a huge fan of vegan food! It's so healthy and flavorful! I didn't get to order much, but I'm going back to try everything else. 1. Hummus Platter. V/GF Mj's homemade hummus, cucumbers, and warm pita. Gluten-free when served with crackers. 2. The French. VEG Apples, local pepper jelly, greens, and your choice of goat cheese, vegan feta on toasted sourdough, or panini-style with Provolone. (Choice of soup: roasted squash soup) 3. Mocha Almond Chocolate, coffee, and toasted almonds in an oat + brown sugar dough. 4.
