Nice food but real shame about the (rude) service. Had the main service lady charge us extra for a tiny bit of chili and refused to change the spice level for our dish. Will not make any substitutes even if you are allergic or intolerant. Tucked away in a quiet corner in Crawley surbub away from the city, the small Malaysian Gourmet is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered for those who have not been here. The store does not have dining tables inside and customers have to sit outside using the tables and chairs at Broadway Fair Shopping Centre. The store only provide takeaway containers and utensils which is a downside if dining there. The menu offers a variety of authentic Malaysian dishes, including nasi lemak, laksa, and rendang, prawn noodle, fried rice and all prepared with the right ingredients and bursting with Malaysian flavour. One of the standout dishes at the restaurant is the nasi lemak, a fragrant coconut rice dish served with various accompaniments such as sambal, fried chicken, fried anchovies, cucumbers and peanuts. The laksa, a spicy noodle soup, is also highly recommended and packed with bold and complex Malaysian flavour. The counter lady staff is very experienced with the menu but she could have served customers with a smile. Overall, this small Malaysian store is worth visiting for those seeking a taste of authentic Malaysian cuisine in a quiet place short distance from the city.
