La Taverna Pan & Vino di Giovanni is an Italian restaurant located in the heart of the Pilar neighborhood. It is a very small place (8 tables in total) with a certain charm, whose owners are Italian and it is understood that they master Italian cuisine. The (serious) problem that this restaurant has is a disastrous quality/quantity relationship. I am going to explain 3 compelling reasons: - Without having requested it, they served us "bread" for a price of €1 per person. The problem is that the bread they give you is exactly one tiny triangle per person (barely 4 cm) of the same dough as the pizza. The most expensive bread in history. - The "cozze a pomodoro" mussels are the smallest I have ever been served in my entire life. It is impossible to find them smaller and still be mussels (sizes even 3 mm.), a real shame. After complaining about their unacceptable size, the answer they gave us was that "it was not the season" for mussels. ?? Gentlemen, in Madrid you ALWAYS have mussels of all sizes. - The Truffle Risotto appears on the menu that comes with Parmesan cheese. Well, they put it on us without it to see if it works. We asked for the Parmesan cheese that was not there and they brought us the grated cheese that is added to the pasta... In short, fatal. To top it all off, they didn't have one of the desserts we ordered, claiming that "they had had a lot of commotion that day" (remember, a very small place with barely any tables) and they had run out (at 3 in the afternoon... ). Quite a disaster. And they didn't even try to apologize by inviting us for a few shots for everything that happened at the end of the meal. You have already seen our hair there, they are far below restaurants like Ginos or Pizza Jardín, to name just a few examples. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
