Delicious pastries and chai in a bakery with a great indoor/outdoor space and decent service. It’s definitely one of those places that made me wonder why I hadn’t discovered it sooner. Arriving early in the morning, I was in awe of the many pastries they had on display. While craving something more filling, I ordered an avocado toast along with a chai latte with oat milk. The chai latte arrived quickly, and the first sips were heavenly—perfectly balanced and made the experience cozy and enjoyable (9/10). The avocado toast came about 10 minutes later, and while aesthetically pleasing, it was decent but nothing extraordinary. The tiny chile serrano did add a nice bit of character, though (6.5/10). After finishing my toast and still having some chai left, I decided to try a cardamom bun that had caught my eye earlier. When I got it, however, it was a bit hard, so I asked for it to be heated up—I would have preferred to have been asked beforehand if I wanted it warmed. Once warmed, the roll improved considerably, but I felt it needed just a tad more sweetness or something extra to make it perfect (8/10). Throughout the visit, the service was friendly but a bit muted. Curious to try more pastries, I ordered four additional items, and the staff kindly packed them in a box. When I was ready to pay, I specifically asked for my breakfast (the toast, chai, and bun) to be charged separately from the rest of the pastries, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I ended up being charged for everything together, which resulted in a larger tip than I intended to give—just a small detail, but one I didn’t appreciate. Overall, the experience was almost perfect. The delicious pastries, cozy chai, and charming space definitely make Maleducados worth returning to, though the service, while attentive, could have used just a bit more enthusiasm to fully match the creativity and quality that the bakery offers.
