You are right that traditional paella is burned at the bottom but due to health codes we are not permitted to make the socarro (burnt bottom) as you would see in Spain. I, like you, do love that part. We have had the same award winning chef for 28 years and I am sure he would have loved to prepare something you would have enjoyed. We are a super friendly group because we love what we do and because we want folks to feel comfortable enough to say what they feel while they are in the house. That includes your displeasure with your food! We would love to see you again and next time you let us know while you are here what we can do to make your visit perfect. That, after all, is why you came in and why we are here in the first place. In the meantime take great care of yourself and we hope to see you soon. More

Alas being slow at lunch has nothing to do with us and everything to do with the lack of people in the city. Those who are there are only there a few days a week and opt for quick service. The only reason we have stayed open during lunch is out of loyalty and love for long time customers and our city. This loyalty actually costs money and negatively impacts our bottom line but I love Cleveland and it’s folks and I am committed to being there to serve our customer family. Portions at lunch are smaller because the prices are so much lower. Nonetheless they are generous I have the absolute best servers in the city. Since it was slow it would have been easy for you to talk to the server about your concerns so he could address them at hand. I am not sure the purpose of writing this review as I cannot do anything to fix this now. What I do know is that ours is a house of love kindness and respect. Everything we do is about pleasing our customer family. I am sorry you were not pleased. These reviews are always hurtful to us because we try so hard to accommodate everyone and I wish you would have expressed your concerns while in the house we could have avoided hurt feelings and we could have made your lunch what you wanted it to be. Please take my cell phone and feel free to cal me as we would love to make sure you are happy with Mallorca. Finally as to your comment about others restaurants in the city. Our chef Loves what he does and has been our chef for 27 years. Our is one of the only fine dining restaurants open for lunch downtown. That tells me and should tell you that our chef cares so much so that he, unlike any other chef in the city, cares to put out excellent food. His commitment and ours is measured in many ways but none can be measured if we don’t even bother to show up, which is the case for 99 percent of the other NOT OPEN for lunch restaurants because it doesn’t suit the bottom line More
