Its a small neighborhood italian restaurant and I really like this place. I enjoyed their flat bread, meat balls, salad and pasta. It was all very yummy.

Would 3 stars be too generous for trying but failing? This is our first time at Mama Terano's. We decided to try this place out based on a recommendation from our neighbor. The menu provided a good selection of dishes but nothing jumped out at me this evening. I finally decided on Mama's meatball with Steamed Clams for an appetizer. After taking our order I overheard the next table over ordering one of the evening specials...wait "specials"?! We weren't told about any specials and there were no entree specials listed on the chalkboard against the wall! When our waiter came to our table we asked about the specials. He said he forgot to show us the special menu and promptly handed us one. One of this evening's specials was braised lamb shank. One of my all time favs. I asked the waiter if I could have that instead of Mama's Meatballs. He responded by saying it was too late and that he had placed the order and that I should've asked for the specials menu. Really? You gonna put this on me? I really wanted the lamb shank so I said I wanted to add it to my order...but I was not happy. Long story short he ended up taking Mama's Meatballs off my bill but did not tell me about it. By the time I looked at my bill I had already sat unhappily through dinner. Now, since I love to eat, all would have been ok if the lamb shank wowed me. Sadly it did not. It was bland and worst yet it was served more towards room temperature than hot. The sauce was hot and tasty. It was as if they had forgotten to heat up the lamb. The steamed clam was also tasty but it was just a standard buttered garlic season steamed clam. Next time? I'm gonna have to think long and hard whether I want to chance on some more cold lamb. However, they do have Cioppino on the menus and that my friend is another one of my favs.
