This restaurant is under new ownership, and they’re clearly putting their best foot forward. The service, food, and overall experience were outstanding. The location is hard to beat. It’s right on the corner in the heart of Rovinj, making it one of the best spots in town for people watching. If you come in the evening, there’s a good chance you’ll catch live street musicians performing nearby, which makes for an awesome atmosphere. There are plenty of covered seats too, so it’s a great place to relax even if the weather changes. The food absolutely exceeded our expectations. We started with the paper-thin sliced octopus, which was unlike anything I’ve ever had. It was incredibly tender and beautifully prepared. We also ordered the tuna tartare, and I honestly think it was the best I’ve ever eaten. The texture was unbelievably delicate, almost like Wagyu beef. For our main courses, we ordered two different fish dishes. One was a perfectly fried whole fish, and the other was a fresh fillet. Both were exceptional and, honestly, better than any fish I’ve had back home in the United States. The cocktails were excellent too, but what really made the experience memorable was Roberto, the restaurant manager. He’s a tall Slovenian guy with a beard who used to play basketball, and he made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. He gave us fantastic recommendations, both from the menu and for things to do around Rovinj. You can tell he genuinely enjoys taking care of his guests. If you’re walking around Rovinj and wondering where to eat, stop here. Great food, great drinks, fantastic hospitality, reasonable prices, and one of the best dining experiences we had during our trip. We’ll definitely be back. Superb food. Had the foccacia followed by the shrimp, pistachio and burrata tagliatelle. Generous potion size. Shared the foccacia! Service excellent too. Thoroughly recommend Special credit to Ugo the chef! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
