CONSISTENTLY OUTSTANDING FLAVORFUL FOOD IS SERVED. A true modern bistro in every sense of the word! **** ORIGINAL REVIEW A FOODIE’S FIND OF AN AUTHENTIC PUNJABI CUISINE in a modern bistro setting. It’s absolutely Cuenca’s BEST INDIAN restaurant. As a bistro, the menu is an uplifting of classic North Indian (Punjabi) foods, along with a handful of South Indian favorites And in keeping with Hindu traditions, there is No Beef, and No Pork with a large vegetarian selections . *** unlike the usual heavy creamed yogurt and soupy coconut-base curries of the average Indian eatery, the curries in this INDIAN BISTRO are mellow yet with the light punches of chilies and fragrant Indian spice mixes. FLAVORS ARE BURSTING (not burning) and TEXTURES ARE COMPLEX YET SOFT TO THE PALATE. The MENU has a listing of fairly uncommon but most lovely Starters like Shaami Kebab: cróquete OR patty of lamb Sabudana Vada: croquettes of tapioca and nuts and garbanzo CRACKLING CRISP Hará Bhara Kebab: croquete OR Patty of mixed veggies ALL THESE GO WELL WITH THE HOUSE Spicy Chutney: mild chili heat with loveliness of fruity chutney the Tandoori Tangdi (chicken drumsticks) is OUTSTANDING, “modernized” take on the classic Punjabi dish *** skinless crispy and crusty chicken drumsticks yet so juicy all with the subtle flavors of the Punjabi yogurt marinade WOW Baingan Bharta is SUPERB. *** I have savored so many of this Punjabi specialty BUT HERE, the curried mash of grilled eggplants have the VERY UNUSUAL YET SO LOVELY consistency of a spreadable eggplant caviar—— it pairs so very well with the Garlic Naan. WOW WOW. SERVICE IS VERY GOOD The dining environment is truly that of a modern Indian Bistro. Well lit, minimalist decor with the distinctive feel that is unmistakably Indian HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Dear guest, thank you so much for your detailed comments and feedback, i am sure this will be of help to travelers and to everyone in general, we all @mantraa are very happy you enjoyed the food, we do have a parking space in the plaza itself and then we have a big paid parking next to the plaza which has a capacity of more than 50 cars, hope to see you back soon!

An abundance of riches! MORE newly opened businesses here in Puertas del Sol. Located directly across from Rio Tomebamba Parque Lineal on C. Victor Manuel Albornoz at the curve of C. Ricardo Darquea, is Casa Del Rio. In this complex is Cesy Rosas Floristería, Sha.La Pilates studio, and food! Centered in the complex is Mantraa Indian cuisine, flanked by Chill & Chela Pub; Caffe Bianco; La Croissanteria; and La Cevicheria. All just a ten-minute walk from the Tranvia parada Rio Tomebamba, and a six-minute walk from our apartment. We made our first visit today, but not our last. At Mantraa, the Kashmiri Rogan Josh (lamb) and Chicken Tikka Masala were excellent ($$), the facility is beautiful, and the staff were kind and attentive.
