Based on the reviews, this place was on my must-list, and we were excited to have a great meal. My family stopped by this restaurant before a show at Count Basie; it was only a 2-minute walk from the theater. We had a reservation for 8 people at 5:30, and two people arrived early to secure the reservation. The restaurant only had 1 other patron (couple) when they arrived, and the waiter was very attentive. The early folks ordered appetizers: 2 guacamoles and 2calamari. However, when the rest of the party showed up, his performance went downhill fast. Appetizers took about 30 minutes (I am sure it takes less than 20 minutes to make guacamole). Then, the server told us that they only had enough calamari for 1order. The lack of calamari wasn't the issue, as the kitchen ran out of items when they were in high demand; the problem was that it took 30 minutes for the waiter to tell us. We let him know that we'd substitute that with the ceviche and that we were ready for our main entrée. He was like, "Sure," and walked away. By this time, he seemed weird/off. He looked flushed and dazed with bloodshot eyes. He didn't come back for another 10 - 15 minutes; by now, it was getting close 6:30 pm and we did not even order our mains, and our show was at 7 pm. We waited for an hour and only got our appetizers; we had not yet received our ceviche or put in our entrees. We had to go to the kitchen to look for the waiter. He came out, and we stressed to him that we had a show at 7 pm and asked him which entrée could be cooked in 15 minutes or less. He recommended the tacos and the fajitas. With that recommendation, we ordered: 3 carne azada fajitas, 3 chicken fajitas, 1 fish taco, and 1 carne azada taco. 30 minutes passed, and it was 7 pm, and our food started to come out. To our surprise, we got 2 chicken tacos that we hadn't ordered. By 7:15, we were still waiting for 1 more order, and by now, I walked to the register to let them know that we would need our check and boxes for our food. As I stood at the register, I could see the cook in the back moving at a glacial speed and the busser standing with the containers in his hands. After observing the busser for 3 minutes, I asked him if he could take the containers in his hands and bring them to the table. He looked shocked that he was still holding the containers and walked them to the table. I stayed at the register with the waiter; he was still ringing up our order. He looked confused and out of it, so I helped and listed the items we had: 2 guacamoles, 1 calamari, 1 ceviche, 3 carne azada fajitas 1 never came, 3 chicken fajitas, 1 fish taco that never came, and 1 carne azada taco that never came and that we got two chicken tacos that we never ordered. He was stressing that they make everything to order, which is appreciative because who does not want fresh food, but I noted to him that we said that we needed to be out by 7 pm and at 6:30, you mentioned that tacos and fajitas are the quickest to get us out the door by 7 PM and that we have been here since 5:30. He then continued to tell me that I didn't say that, and I mentioned that I had a whole table of people who heard me explicitly say that to you. I'm over it at this point. After that, he removed the cost of the 2 chicken tacos and ceviche. However, he said that he had to charge the waters $1 per person. He charged me 9 glasses of water for 8 people. At this time, I was not going to fight for $1. we just wanted to pay and get out. Overall, the food was good, but the service was terrible. I am not sure if the cook or waiter was under the influence of something, but they were mentally absent. The busser was OK; he just looked really confused about what was happening. We could have caught them on an off day given by soo many positive reviews. However, we would not come back even if the food was good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Guacamole, Chicken Fajitas

Located in the Galleria almost directly across from Triumph Brewery. A little perplexed as to why this restaurant was virtually empty on a Saturday night considering the great ratings. While the place is not that big, at any one time there were no more than three other tables occupied. Anyway, first off I had read a prior review that stated it was BYOB so we brought our own and indeed, I did not see any indication on the menu that they served alcohol. I was more than a little embarrassed when I found out they do in fact serve Modelo but for whatever reason its not on the menu. Nevertheless, our server was ok with the fact that we brought our own but will clearly opt for the Modelos next time. Now to the food. The portions are HUGE here and very well priced for the amount that you get. Fish is front and center here hence the name, Mariscos Marlin. I ordered coconut shrimp (who knew that was a Mexican thing!). I received at least 6 JUMBO shrimp along with rice, corn on the cob and various grilled vegetables. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and coated with crunchy and sweet coconut. The dish was so big I brought most of it home. Service was a little slow however with a long wait between time of order and actual arrival of the food. I am not taking points off for that as it was worth the wait. Unfortunately I was too full for dessert. The clientele the night we were there were all Mexican families so I have to assume this place is authentic. Our server was pleasant and accomodating. I would definately go back here when I'm in the Red Bank area. Parking: Large lot with free parking just outside the restaraunt. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30
