You literally get no food or drink for this fee !!! It cost my group of fourteen medical specialists (giving up their evening to discuss improved treatment in autism, sexual abuse survivors and suicidal Australians) $495 a week ago Be very careful. The restaurant strongly defend their right to charge this fee.
And it cost $100 per person for bread, a small entrée, and sausages as a main course or simple pasta, with shared salad and potato. Masani explain they charge more for pre-booked groups seeking privacy. Wine was markedly more expensive than most restaurants. And the sommelier (with a waiter) refused to track for individual billing 24 drinks between 14 doctors over 3 hours as they were too busy (in a totally empty restaurant). That’s one drink every 7 minutes.
All the promises before we paid our deposit disappeared after payment, as apparently doctors don’t understand basic English, so the promises agreed apparently were never made. Be extremely careful, as the $35 fee per person only appeared at the end of the night, never having been mentioned before, with Masani saying in a subsequent email the cost per person is written in terms and conditions on the tax invoice”. This is actually a normal printout of food and drink consumed, and blank on the back. Let’s forget the illegality of imposing terms and conditions after the event has occurred!! Instead let’s exploit doctors preoccupied with helping the population by slipping in a never-mentioned $495 onto the bill.
Apparently $35 for each person is the cost to go into Masani, have a table set, and have a waiter serve you. Be extremely careful as the figure can escalate to any amount they wish per person presumably. It is never discussed. Get any denial of extra charges in writing I strongly advise you, even for a table for 2 or 4 where they can do the same presumably. How do you know that at the end of your meal you are not going to be charged for booking a table, talking to the staff, asking for a glass of water, having bathroom access etc?
Now I understand why nearby restaurants are very busy and I have not seen any other customers in this restaurant.
