We were so excited to see our favorite restaurant open again as Maroun! Decided to dine in tonight and everything was perfect. From the warm welcome to the delicious dishes, we felt right at home. All safety protocols are in place and we encourage everyone to visit this amazing gem! Kudos as well to Mr. Maroun as he was somehow managing to shift between all roles with ease. I can’t say enough good things about Maroun, and if you’re not comfortable with dining in they also have takeout. Enjoy!

My friends and I were off to the opera and we had made reservations at Mashawi since it was so close to MaCaw Hall. We'd made reservations for 5 just in case the place for busy and sure enough it was packed full by 5:30. I ordered a safe option of curry chicken on yellow rice (the basmati it is usually on has gluten so a no-go for me!). The service was a bit slow but the place was packed and they were very kind and sincere when interacting with us. The food was delicious and full of great flavor! Before our main course we had ordered side salads and some baba ganoush which was simple but very good. The portions were large and I wish I could have taken it to go but we weren't going straight home after. The entire menu is nearly gluten free including the delectable vanilla ice cream which was topped with rose water and pistachio nuts... Definitely the highlight of my night. A great dining experience all topped with a wonderful opera after. I will be back to Mashawi for sure.
