Out of all the udon shops on our month long trip on Hokkaido, mainland, Okinawa, and Ishigaki, we talk about how this was the best udon we’ve had. It’s ruined udon from other places for us. The noodle is made fresh and they’re so long and chewy. The broth is subtle but good. Would go again. The tempura egg is actually fully cooked. I was expecting it to be soft boiled consistency. ︎Masuda Udon ︎Goboten udon Udon Masuda in the neighborhood for lunch It's too popular and it's always a line 5 minutes before opening, there was no line and I was lucky to be the first one. I ordered Goboten Udon simply. This restaurant's specialty is burdock tempura that protrudes from the bowl. Thin burdock tempura fried in a grid pattern Good crispy texture and rich burdock flavor The broth is a slightly sweet transparent soup Udon is chewy, soft, yet chewy noodles. If you soak the goro in the soup, The batter absorbs the soup stock and becomes soft, which is also delicious. It was a perfect warm cup on a cold day.
