Last night, my family and I went to the McDonald's next to the Mineiro restaurant. When requesting ketchup and mustard for our snack, we were informed by an attendant who was not serving us, that it was not available. After a brief exchange of looks between the first attendant and another who denied the ketchup, I asked if it was available anywhere else, receiving the same negative response. Surprised by the lack of ketchup in a McDonald's franchise, we asked the person serving us who the manager was. When speaking with the manager, Juliana, we were rudely informed that the lack of ketchup was normal, as it was a courtesy. My husband commented that, generally, an apology is expected instead of saying that it happens, that it is normal to run out of ketchup in a McDonald's store, he remained quiet, did not look for the product, much less apologize. Interestingly, minutes later, other customers were served ketchup. We then decided to return and request again, being promptly served by the same person who initially served us and who apparently did not understand the ketchup refusal. The attitude of the employee and the manager was inexplicable and frustrating, especially considering that we were accompanied by our children, who always eat their snack with ketchup. My daughter, in fact, was unable to enjoy her snack as usual, due to the lack of this basic accompaniment. This experience was frustrating and disappointing.
