This is Michelin Star level food in a comfortable atmosphere. The cuisine is inventive while staying true to Mexican tradition and most importantly DELICIOUS! The cocktails and wine selection are phenomenal. This is a can’t miss dining experience in São Paulo.

The experience was completely compromised by the noise in the place. We ordered the tasting menu (quite expensive! 400 reais per person) with the intention of actually tasting the process. The room we stayed in has no acoustic treatment, loud music playing and tables with people talking very loudly. I just couldn't talk to the person I was with! It was unbearable! But what made me most upset is that there was a table available in another quieter place and, when I asked to change, I was denied this possibility, as that table would only be for 4 people and not two. I said it was very unpleasant back there (where I was) and they still wouldn't allow me to change. My mistake, I should have canceled the order and left, but I insisted on trying to stay, after all I had already been there. Result: the food is really delicious (especially the hot dishes), but it wasn't worth the experience at all. I found little food, but what really made the experience horrible was the environment. Totally incompatible with the tasting menu proposal. It looked like a busy bar at a corporate happy hour. In the middle of the process I just wanted them to send the other dishes so I could get out of there as quickly as possible! I even downloaded a decibel meter and found that, on average, the noise corresponded to 88 decibels. Google it and see how “delicious” it is. It was a highly stressful and unpleasant 2 hours!! I ended up paying a lot of money to simply want to leave as quickly as possible. And, as I said, the worst thing is that there was a table in another quieter place and they didn't let me sit there. I rarely write reviews, but I felt it necessary to do so for the sake of my mental health, still trying to comprehend my experience at Metzi, which unfortunately wasn't the best. My wife and I flew from Melbourne, Australia, to São Paulo for our honeymoon with high expectations for Metzi. (I believe that was a big mistake.) Instead, I found myself quite bored. I chose to dine in to seek inspiration and return with fresh ideas, but I left the place uninspired. The atmosphere was adequate but nothing remarkable or unique. I kindly requested to change tables because the AC was a bit too cold for my wife, considering she had to sit at the table for two hours with the chilly air blowing on her face. It took some time, but after my second request for a different server, they finally accommodated us, which we appreciated. There was a hint of sarcasm in the air, but it was tolerable. My wife felt somewhat uncomfortable as no one attempted to communicate with her in English, and the dishes were only explained to me. We opted for the "Menu Degustação" for R$400. I expected the food to have more balanced flavors instead of being predominantly sour, with some exceptions. Hats off to the mussels and oysters al ajillo; they were good. However, I was very disappointed with the main dish. One of the servers placed the tray with the main dish on the rack ready to serve us, but it took some time for someone to bring it to our table. The tortilla with hoja santa was already broken in half before we began assembling our tacos. As soon as I had the first bite in the taco, everything just felt apart. Additionally, the salsa macha came with a hair (which is understandable, these things happen), but we were already quite disappointed with the experience already. I wish I could go back in time and choose à la carte items instead of the set menu. It MIGHT have been a little better. I am just someone who loves Mexican cuisine and culture and has a background in hospitality. I have high hopes that my review can be considered by the management for improvement for the future customers.
