If your wanting something to fill you up then come here , puts places like weatherspoons to shame for food , the quality was gorgeous we will definitely be back , once tasted I forgot all about taking a photo for the review Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Ham Egg & Chips

I came in with my family whilst on a day trip to Buxton. I ordered the pea and ham soup which was advertised as homemade that day. We waited a long time for our food. When it came it was very thin and tasted very odd. I persevered but I couldn't honestly eat it, it tasted that bad and after about 5 mouthfuls I couldn't continue. I'm not sure what it tasted of but it certainly did not taste of pea and ham soup. I took it to bar and whilst I was there the chef came to the bar. I explained that I couldn't eat it and invited him to taste it. He did, and agreed it wasn't nice. I asked how it had been made and he said he didn't know because the head chef had made it and the head chef wasn't in that day. He apologised and said he'd get me something else. By that time my family had nearly finished their meals so I asked for ham sandwich which came a few minutes later. If I'm honest, it was pretty basic, literally ham on 2 slices of white bread. Nothing else at all. I ate it and we left. I was quite unwell when I got home and can only assume it's from the soup as none of the others have been poorly. I don't know if it had been left out but it certainly tasted like it had gone off and they obviously hadn't tasted it based on what the chef said so goodness knows how old it was. I contacted the pub over a week ago to advise them I'd been unwell and to ask how it had been made. They replied saying they'd look into it. I heard nothing so I messaged again but they've still not replied even though I can see it's been read. We paid over £40 in total so it's very disappointing.

Great food, friendly staff and affordable prices! Called in the Miltons Tap on a Monday afternoon whilst visiting Buxton and we were really impressed with the food and service we received. They offer a 5.95 lunch menu if you are looking for a cheap lunch but I went for a pie of the day with trimmings which was also excellent value. To top it off the desserts were great too, would definitely visit again when next in Buxton.
