Visited Mint Restaurant with a group of friends after it was highly recommended to us. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and is also pet-friendly for small pets, which was a wonderful bonus. The service was excellent—the staff member who attended us was very polite, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes, which we really appreciated. We ordered several cocktails and lassis, and the drinks were definitely one of the highlights of the evening. When it comes to the food, my opinion is a bit different because I’m Indian and have grown up eating authentic Indian cuisine from different regions of India. The food was good, but it didn’t quite match the flavors and authenticity I was expecting. I believe it’s well suited for locals and foreigners who are trying Indian food for the first time, and I understand that the restaurant likely adapts the flavors to local preferences in Uruguay. If you’re looking for an introduction to Indian cuisine, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try. However, if you’re an Indian expecting the same authentic taste you’d find back home, your experience may be different. Overall, the service, drinks, atmosphere, and pet-friendly environment were excellent, even though the food wasn’t quite up to my personal expectations. If you’re craving Indian food in Montevideo, go to MINT. Me and my friends went on weekend to celebrate birthday of my friend and we really enjoyed it . The flavors are good and they adjust the spice perfectly whether you’re Uruguayan or Indian. The staff is incredibly welcoming and it’s pet friendly which is a huge plus. The atmosphere makes you want to stay longer. Can’t wait to go back! If anyone wanted to introduce into indian flavour go for MINT. Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $2,000+

We had high expectations of this restaurant after reading some of its reviews. We were disappointed to see that our biryani was made with regular rice and not with basmati Indian rice. It was surprising to know by Aman that basmati is not commonly found in Uruguay and that at the moment, apparently no Indian restaurant was serving such rice. We think that if such is the case, it should be stated on the menu, particularly for foreigners like us. We did return the dish because it was not to our specifications of what we know of Indian food on flavor or spiciness. We did enjoyed the butter chicken, the chapati and the pomelo juice. Aman was nice enough to explain to us how the spicy levels and condiments of Indian cuisine would also not be very welcomed by locals due to tolerance, allergies, etc. He also added that if we wanted more spicy and condiments as Indians would, we could ask; this also something that could be clarified in person and/or in the menu.
