Jantar no Mirante Brasserie foi muito especial, já me encantei no primeiro momento quando ao sair do elevador, estava ali no hall do restaurante nos esperando sorridente a Dona Regina! Atendimento diferenciado, ótima comida, e uma vista linda! Muito obrigada Dona Regina e Dr João, pelo carinho, fizeram da nossa noite muito especial!! Voltaremos com toda certeza! Um grande abraço.

We have dined at a lot of great restaurants around the world, but Mirante goes beyond a simple dining experience. The intimate setting and the interaction with chef João Roberto are rare and make this a very special place. Oh, and the food too! Obrigado!

The car park was full of debris and unfinished. It looked nice from outside. We got in and we were greeted by Joao's wife, very warm but wearing trainers (a bit odd for a top quality restaurant). It is a restaurant with 10 tables, we got seated by the windows with a nice night sight of Ribeirao Preto. The tables were just plain, no table cloth, the cutlery very flimsy and the napkins...paper...like the ones you normally use for camping. The menu is from the eighties and french based. Good quality of ingredients so very little need to be done to get it right. The price range of the ingredients was from 45 to 85 reais (far too expensive for what we got). The starters were too big, they looked like main courses (we shared between us green asparagus with crab and black truffles and Jacare with provencal sauced (55 reais each). The main courses were TOO SALTY. We all ordered fish, smoked haddock risotto, 2 trouts with almonds and a seafood dish (dont remember the name in portuguese, but similar to lobster). 4 out of 4 dishes were very very salty, and I used to eat with a lot of salt but no that much. I politely approach the lady who greeted us and her only response was: "It is very rare because no one had complaint so far"!!! Complete denial. Neither discount were offered nor replacement, the old school thinking of thinking the customer has no idea and my food is great!!! From that point onward she would not look at us at all. Every single item was charge for!!! Customer service skills 0, the worst restaurant I have been so far this year (an average of three per week in London) She listed the desserts like a litany, she wanted us to go, so we did. WE WILL NOT REPEAT!!!! There are a few things he needs to change to be a 200 reais per head average restaurant:- The waitress was wearing a white jumper and trainers (not acceptable)- Paper napkins??????? Flimsy cutlery???????- You like it or not, we pay your bills so you have to ensure we leave the place happy, Customer service is paramount these days. Gone are the days the chef is always right. In these case an old guy serving the dishes himself was the Chef, a guy called Joao, very famous in the eighties, but he is stuck there...Other than that the ingredients were of excellent quality...
