Mitsuba is a nice Japanese cafe with a delicious selection of cakes, hot meals and hot and cold drinks. Mitsuba has cosy comfortable seating areas and a great ambience. The food is very nice at a very good price. When I visited Mitsuba with my friend we had teriyaki chicken don, chicken katsu curry, matcha basque cheese cake and matcha latte, we enjoyed our delicious meal and drinks. Food and drinks here were absolutely delicious. I went with my friend to get lunch and cake and we were both so pleased with how it was. I ordered a lavender matcha latte to drink and it was really good quality matcha which was not over-sweetened by the lavender syrup and there was not too much milk in it. My friend got a Thai milk bubble tea with tapioca which she enjoyed a lot. I had the salmon brunch set which was a large portion that came with steamed vegetables, cucumber salad, miso soup, onigiri, mochi, white tea and some very flavourful salmon. My friend got the sesame chicken which came with steamed broccoli and rice and she thoroughly enjoyed it. For dessert I had the blueberry cream cake and she had the matcha and strawberry cake. Neither cake was too sweet and the fruit in both cakes was sweet and crunchy, the cake itself was very soft and moorish and the cream was light and delicate without being sickly. I was so pleased with the choices available for drinks, savoury food and sweet treats which made it a comfortable experience for ordering. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant with light music playing in the background, not too quiet but quiet enough that we could talk without having to raise our voices. Unfortunately the seats were a little bit too high for me as I am 5'3" which meant my legs went numb after a while however in the future we could probably just sit somewhere else and sadly our plates were not cleared away from our table for over an hour. I didn’t mind too much until we noticed we didn’t really have space to order another drink or get dessert; eventually I moved our plates onto another table. The staff were polite and helpful, pointing to the toilet code on the receipt to ensure we could go whenever we want and I would happily come back here to eat again. Miso Salmon The grilled fish in the miso salmon set absolutely blew me away! Crispy, charred skin paired with rich miso sauce—pure Japanese perfection. Beef Rice Bowl Reminds me exactly of Yoshinoya’s classic gyudon. Seasoned just right, though it would’ve been perfect with a soft-boiled onsen egg on top! Lavender Matcha Beautifully strong lavender aroma mixed with velvety smooth matcha. Such a lovely combo Red Bean Matcha The adzuki beans were so soft and tender, perfectly sweetened. Paired with the matcha, it felt like eating a proper dessert—delightful! Yuzu Basque Cheesecake Such a unique bright, tangy yuzu flavour! Paired with the ultra-creamy Basque texture—literally the ideal summer cake. Strawberry Cake Just like the iconic strawberry cake that’s always in Crayon Shin-chan!
