We had an incredible experience at Moon and Turtle from beginning to end. The food, cocktails, atmosphere, and especially the service were all outstanding. This is easily one of those restaurants that you leave already thinking about when you can come back. The smoky sashimi was absolutely amazing, fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and the smoky element really took it to another level. It was unique without overpowering the quality of the fish and was definitely one of the highlights of the evening. The sizzling poke was another standout. The flavors worked perfectly together, and having it served sizzling made the entire dish even more memorable. You can really tell there is a lot of thought and creativity behind the food here. We also had the mushroom risotto, and it was excellent. Rich, creamy, full of mushroom flavor, and cooked perfectly. It was comforting but still felt elevated and special. Every dish we ordered had its own personality, and there honestly wasn't anything we wouldn't order again. The cocktails were fantastic as well, creative, and made with the same attention to detail as the food. It's definitely worth taking your time, ordering a few different dishes and cocktails, and enjoying the whole experience. What really completed the evening was the service. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a great experience. Great food is important, but when you combine it with exceptional service, that's what makes a restaurant memorable. If you're in Hilo and looking for somewhere special with amazing food, great cocktails, and excellent service, put this place on your list. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
