As a local, I wanted to love this place, but I would highly suggest La Sala's Bi Rite market for sandwiches before this place. Also Tres Mundos is supposedly "not affiliated" and a better option than Mundos on Webster. There is also some animosity when suggesting these two businesses that share almost identical names, might be affiliated. Mundos on Webster st. has very odd hours for when they decide to be open. They don't put any signs up on the business or online to notify the customer when they are closed. This is their business and they run it like an after thought or some front for something else. I once tried to place a large group order, for me and my coworkers, through door dash, during one of their normal business days and during regular hours. They were closed, no updated schedule online, just not opened. Had to be refunded through door dash. Their phone number online is not active. So, I Placed an order in person today, I was told food would be ready in 10, came back 9 min later to locked doors and was told that they closed due to running out of bread. The order was ready on the counter btw, just weird business practices. It feels like a fake restaurant or a front for something. The store front has not been updated or improved in the 5 years I have desperately tried to give them my business. As for the food, The chimichurri sauce they put on their Argentinian tri-tip sandwich is a weird pesto sauce at Best and it used to be very good, but is no longer. The cooking surface they use to toast or heat the food is teflon lined and the restaurant stinks of this smell and it transfers to the food. Prices are now $6 higher than what's posted online. Not cool and too expensive for what you get. The Mundos tri-tip sandwich is consistently delicious so two stars for a good sandwich, but their strange business tactics and disregard for the customer is too offputting to keep going back and trying to give them my business. For those reasons, I'm out. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This place is really underrated in my opinion. They have great sandwich options and it was hard to pick just one. I’ve had the Pastrami on Rye. Super delicious, crispy, flavorful, good portion. The staff was super friendly, too. If you are in Monterey, definitely check this place out. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited Mundo’s Café in Monterey after seeing a $5 off $20 offer through the Entertainment app. When I presented the coupon, the employee was polite but confused, and after checking with the owner, I was told they don’t honor any outside offers. If they’ve opted out of the program, they should ensure the offer is removed. If they are still under agreement, they should honor it. Either way, it’s frustrating for customers, so I hope they clarify their participation in such offers going forward. Service: 1
