Very disappointed, always thought of National trust cafe's have good quality food, but this was very poor, had an inedible sausage roll, it must have been hanging around under a heat lamp for most of it's life, it was very dry and hard, I complained and to the credit of the staff they did give me a cheese scone as a replacement, also ordered a cheese sandwich, which had basic factory bread with processed plastic cheese, yuck

A beautiful National Trust property with rolling hills and land where you can see the deer grazing. The walk down to the house is breathtaking or if you prefer there is a shuttle bus. The house itself is splendid and well worth a walk around. The formal garden is well laid out and bursting with colour whatever the time of the year. There us a restaurant on site which serves tea coffee and the most amazing homemade soups. There is us plenty if space fir your young ones to run around and also a dedicated okay area. There is also a lovely walk up to the church. I frequent this place at least once a week and love it

Great outdoor space. Polite and helpful staff. Can get quite busy at weekend so be patient!Recommend the kids lunch boxes and the amazing cakes.Team at Durham do an amazing job.
