I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Navigation Inn Wetherspoon today. My family and I arrived at approximately 1:30pm and ordered two fish and chips meals, a cup of tea, and a jacket potato with cheese and beans. After waiting around 20 minutes, the two fish and chips meals were brought out, but my jacket potato never arrived. After waiting another 20 minutes, I went to enquire about my order, only to be told that the cashier had failed to put it through the system. Rather than apologising and resolving the issue promptly, I was told I would have to go back to the bar, place the order again, and wait all over again. To make matters worse, when I reordered the same jacket potato with cheese and beans, I was told I would have to pay extra for the cheese. I found this incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. The mistake was entirely on your side, yet I was still expected to pay extra for an item that should have been included in my original order. It is now 2:30pm, a full hour after we arrived, and I am only just starting to eat my meal while the rest of my family finished theirs some time ago. This completely ruined what should have been a meal we could all enjoy together. When the food eventually arrived, the portion was also disappointing, with only a very small scattering of beans on the potato. The whole experience was poorly handled from start to finish. We experienced unnecessary delays, poor communication, and a complete lack of customer service. I feel that the situation should have been rectified without me having to reorder or incur any additional cost because of a staff error. Sadly, this experience has left a very poor impression, and I will not be returning to the Navigation Inn. I hope this complaint is taken seriously so that future customers do not have to experience the same level of poor service. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £10–20
