I can not in good faith recommend this as "food" for my friends, family, or enemies to ingest. I leave this as a warning! I didn't take any enemies to eat (though looking back I wish I had & made them pay), rather my partner & I tried New China again for the first time in a long time. I'll start with my only positive for the cost of our meal, we did get a good sized portion of food. The downside as my girlfriend pointed out, is we then had a fairly large amount of bad food. After my 2nd bite, I couldn't get it out of my head that "THIS IS JUST BBQ SAUCE WITH SOME SOY ADDED!". Can't say I've ever ordered General Chicken before & got BBQ Chicken instead. Definitely won't be going back. Nearly all the food on the plate tasted off. I can't put it into words. I did like the weird plexiglass box they had constructed over the counter, it was good weird. Like I walked onto a random set that was cut from The Backrooms. Do yourself the favor, & just the backrooms, DON'T GO IN! It's the Northside, I can't tell you what will happen. Ok I don't know if there is new owners or what, the food quality has fallen off. The past two times my family has ordered here the chicken is dry and shreddy, they took the pork out of my rice :( and the chicken has the consistency of wood, tastes like reheated Chinese :( I think this is my last meal here. I'm going to find a good place because this used to be the best now it's equal to Hong Kong inn, just yuck! SMH Food: 1

Try what I tried because it was delicious: - Chicken with Garlic Sauce has a spicy first bite but it backs off quick. Their recipe is great for the sliced chicken and balance in the sauce - Steamed Dumplings are my favorite appetizer, and amazing with or without the sauce because the filling itself is great. - Chicken Teriyaki (appetizer) is something i cant find anywhere else, and its really amazing when you can. its not the Japanese style, so you're aware. This is skewered and done in a bbq style with the fermented red bean to marinate it. Dont miss this. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–10
