Terrible service! Noone helped when we walked in. We searched for a waitress and was told to sit outside in a booth. All of the workers were sitting down and smoking Hookah in the corner. They looked at us, but never came over to assist. We left after 15 mins of waiting... dont waste your time or money.

My husband and I are an interracial couple and we attempted to eat here last night and were turned away because of my sandals. We did not know this was a blacks only establishment because that was the only people sitting on the patio. Reverse racism at its finest! Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I can't believe the glowing reviews about Nowhere Deep Ellum. I must have walked into the Twilight Zone version of the restaurant because my experience was a comedy of errors. First up, the service. If you enjoy being ignored, this is the place for you. The hostess seated our group of three with all the enthusiasm of a DMV clerk, and then we entered the black hole where waiters go to disappear. It took 20-30 minutes before our server decided to grace us with their presence. Places with mandatory 20% gratuity are the best if you love lazy service. It's like watching someone fail upwards in real-time. The vibe? More like a funeral. On a bustling Saturday lunch hour, the place had the energy of a library. There were maybe 3-4 other tables occupied, and the music was cranked up to ear-bleeding levels. It was so loud, I started wondering if they were trying to drown out the sound of their own disappointment. After this circus, we went around the corner to Stir, and the difference was night and day. Stir was like the cool, fun cousin you actually want to hang out with. And now, the food. Oh, the food. Imagine paying $20 for Salmon Sliders that come with salmon pieces so tiny, you'd need a magnifying glass to find them. They were served on grocery store Hawaiian buns, which I guess was supposed to be charmingly rustic but just felt like a sad picnic. The $15 sliders I ordered were basically lettuce, tomato, and a hint of bacon on, you guessed it, grocery store Hawaiian buns. I had to laugh – it was either that or cry. In conclusion, if you enjoy bad service, deafening music, and food that makes you question your life choices, Nowhere Deep Ellum is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy, but hey, maybe you'll get a good laugh out of it. I know I did, eventually. I forgot to mention the drinks were the one good thing about this place, they should let the bartender run the whole place. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
