brought a friend here for laksa, as authentic laksa is SUPER hard to find (done right!) outside of asia (malaysia & singapore, mostly). the first time i had laksa was over a decade ago when i lived in australia (effectively asia...iykyk), and have even eaten it in singapore. i've tried looking for it in NYC and LA, and they were both a bust! BUT THIS LAKSA - this is 90% authenticity of what you would get in SE asia...!!!! the broth is a little sweeter than traditional laksa, but the flavors were there. they use a medium rice noodle, whereas the versions i prefer are a bit thicker (more like udon-style) and added a few large leafs of cabbage (???) and a soft-boiled egg (usually it's half of a hard boiled egg), but everything else was ON-POINT. and if you've ever had traditional laksa, you know how hard yet distinct the flavors are...! the spices and flavor of the broth were super well balanced, they had shrimp AND egg, i believe there were strips of something akin to a fish cake, and overall the soup was DELICIOUS!!! my friend loved it too (it was her first time), and we even got some to-go for her partner (who was stuck at work). the service was great, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice and quaint. there's big windows that look out to a neighborhood street with lots of trees and not much traffic. they have their own parking lot (!!!), and the restrooms are spacious. the only thing i didn't like about the menu was there was some "woo-woo" in the menu, specifically some "healthy drinks" that they were claiming "effective cure for dysentery and cholera", and "used to prevent hepatitis, cancer, and coronavirus, relieve gastric ulcers, and detoxify the body". 9/10 for the laksa due to the slight creative liberty, but it wasn't so far gone that you didn't know what it was. -10/10 for purposely spreading medical misinformation on their menu, especially in this day and age of MAHA (please go see a licensed medical professional for what ails you - do NOT order drinks from a restaurant for $6). Nudi Noodle Place was an amazing stop for someone who’s visiting from out of town. My girlfriend and I were greeted by a very friendly server named Tu, they made sure to make us feel welcomed and included. The menu has an amazing variety of delicious options, we started with a crab rangoon - which uses real Dungeness crab meat, my girlfriend got the boat noodle and I got the miso ramen - both of which which were incredible. We ended our meal off with a mango sticky rice and a raspberry and mexican mole crème brûlée, both of which were divine. I highly recommend this meal to anyone who enjoys food.
