Had dinner here last night for Father’s Day and was so impressed with the atmosphere & design that I wanted to drop some kudos in a review. It’s been awesome seeing this corner complex get some quality spots for the East Valley. Origen is definitely an incredible gem. Right away we were blown away with the place in terms of comfortable chairs, nice big tables, proper lighting, high-end materials all around us. Hosts & our waitress was super friendly & accommodating. She made great menu suggestions & helped with any questions we had. We did some drinks, a Tempura appetizer, then Octopus & a New York Steak for entrees. While I didn’t want to knock the review, I will provide some constructive feedback, just some minor tweaks that would likely make this a huge hit for everyone that may be more critical: 1. Really no waiting area, and while I have no clue how you’d add this after the fact, it would have been nice as we did have about a 15-minute wait with a reservation. You’re essentially backed up against a tight hallway where guests are coming in and out, no more than 6 guests are hanging in this entrance area at a time. 2. While I’ll say the bar was fully seated with guests, it did seem to take a good amount of time to get our initial drink order out. If I had to guess I’d say 15-20 minutes, it was even after the appetizer, and unfortunately both drink orders were wrong (wife ordered a Hula, she received some sort of mocktail in a silver/copper cup, I did a Corona *no lime* and got a big ol lime on top). 3. Ordered a medium-rare New York, and while I’m no chef, this was definitely well done in my opinion. 4. I’m genuinely not sure if you freeze these potato wedges before preparing, but the larger slices tasted super freezer-burned or uncooked. Just some things to work out at a new spot, but will definitely be back and as we had a great time overall. Thanks for hosting a great restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the breathtaking ambiance. Every detail of the restaurant was thoughtfully designed, including the restrooms, which had a beautiful rustic vibe and are absolutely perfect for anyone who loves taking selfies. We started our evening with the lobster tempura appetizer—something I had never tried before—and it was incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the octopus, and oh my God... it was hands down the best octopus I've ever had in my life. It was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor. Every single bite was pure bliss. To finish the night, we ordered the flan. My spouse normally hates flan and never eats it, but this one completely changed his mind. As someone of Latin descent who has enjoyed flan my entire life, I can honestly say this was one of the best I've ever had. The texture, richness, consistency, and flavor were simply outstanding. The drinks, the presentation of the dishes, the table settings—everything felt unique, inviting, and elevated. However, what made our date night even better than the amazing food was our waitress, ASH, She was professional, friendly, down-to-earth, and every recommendation she made was spot on. Her service truly elevated our entire experience. We're also thrilled to hear they're opening a new location closer to us in Downtown Phoenix.
