On a perpetual quest for a particularly tasty and memorable Margarita through my many travels throughout Latin and Central America - I clearly met my match at a tucked away gem of a restaurant in Cabo, Mexico. After walking for miles while reading reviews looking for a place to eat, I found a recommendation for this place called Outpost. Just a stones throw away from the Tesoro resort. Farm to table, okay, they had me there. The ambience itself was completely different from all the other local typical taquerias, seafood on the wharf, traditional restaurants. Once you walk through the door you might feel you're in Cannes and not in Cabo. Rich colors, a great beat playing in the background. Textures and colors, rich setting of velvets and wood. Careful attention to detail. The menu often changes, everything is fresh including herbs growing along the back of the bar used to decorate each craft cocktail. A hip and knowledgeable staff led me to all my great choices. Everything was so great that I went back a second time. Met many regulars there, this hidden gem for locals "if you know you know" nodding heads as you enter. Hands down the handcrafted Margarita presentation cannot be matched anywhere! So beautiful that I tried three of the theatrical masterpieces over two days! See videos! You will not be disappointed! I live in Florida where the quest for a decent Margarita continues, never quite right. Outpost takes the global trophy ! Back to the food. The Sea Bass Ceviche with fresh citrus was so fantastic I was tempted to try it again but the staff convinced me to go with the home made Burrata and pesto toast the second night. Although these are both listed as appetizers they were good sized portions and I wanted to save room for dessert. Tried both the churros and the stuffed French toast. Definitely the French Toast turned heads as it was brought to the table. This restaurant is all about aesthetics and service and the food and craft cocktails tie it all together! A must if you're in Cabo! Say hi to TaKuba for me and tell him Andrea sent you!
