As a licensed venue, we are required to comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) laws and our staff are trained to identify and respond to behaviours that may indicate intoxication. These decisions are based on observations made at the time and are not limited to a single factor. On this occasion, our team acted in accordance with their RSA training and legal obligations. While you may disagree with the decision that was made, our staff are required to exercise their judgement and take appropriate action where they believe it is necessary to remain compliant with licensing requirements. We also reject the suggestion that the interaction was motivated by sexism. Staff regularly communicate with one member of a group when addressing concerns, and this should not be interpreted as discriminatory treatment. We appreciate that the outcome was disappointing for you; however, we are satisfied that our team acted appropriately and in line with both venue policy and RSA legislation.
