I visited this Panda Express and was told my chicken would take about 5–6 minutes to finish cooking. I said that was completely fine and sat down to wait. A couple minutes later, an employee loudly asked across the restaurant if I was going to pay for my food first, in a rude and unprofessional tone, in front of other customers. I understand businesses have policies regarding payment, but the way the situation was handled made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the interaction came across as though I was being racially profiled, which made the experience even more upsetting and embarrassing. Had the policy been explained politely and respectfully, I would have completely understood. Customer service should always be handled professionally, especially when addressing customers in public.
