you'd expect this place to be little more than a gimmick by the sound of things, but it's genuinely good! i had the pineapple shio ramen, and i think it's probably your best bet too. the soup is meaty and savoury, balanced by the slight fruity sweetness of the pineapple. however, the pineapple is subtle, and while I haven't tried the ebi shio or shoyu, i can imagine the pineapple being overpowered. the pineapple ajitama is jammy, though it is notably sweeter than the soup so it stands out, but i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. the pork was more lean than fatty, but it was still good and tender. smoky and savoury, almost too straight-laced for such an amusing bowl of noodles. adding garlic halfway through was a very good choice and i thoroughly recommend it. now sharing a store with ryuseiken 龍聖軒, Papapapapine offers whimsy alongside a legitimate balance of flavours, something that ramen sorely lacks. come here and remind yourself how life ought to be approached: it's important to strive to do good, but equally important is not to take yourself too seriously. weak 4-star rating: very good Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Vegetarian options: not available
