My girlfriend and I went for lunch at Pat’s for the second time today, the first time being a few weeks ago trying their fish and chips sandwich (which we still dream about). This time we got their weekly special and the deli sandwich and boy oh boy, words cannot describe that first bite. The most impressive thing about this deli sandwich is that it looks like an everyday sandwich that you would get at any cafe, and usually they’re dry, horribly rationed and you end up regretting spending your money on it, but Pat’s is in a league of their own with their sandwich making and this one may be the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I underestimated the perfection of a simple sandwich (terrible mistake by me). It was creamy, your teeth could slide straight though it with no hassle, there was a perfect amount of sauce encapsulated by the rocket, the sweetness of the pickles and onion blended together beautifully and the quality of the meats was unmatched. Every bite was perfect and caused an immediate reaction of dancing to express the flavours swirling in my mouth. The staff are so lovely, responsive and kind. We felt like we were greeting old friends and the sandwiches came in no time. THIS is the place you want to go for your sandwiches. Bring a friend, a group, or go on a solo date, any occasion is ideal. I am devastated that we didn’t get a photo of our lovely food but here’s a photo of the last bite of my sandwich!! The most delicious sangas in Ballarat, possibly Victoria. You guys well out-do the likes of Nicos and Hectors in Melb. A week on I’m still thinking of last week’s bolognaise special. Quite possibly the most perfect toastie I have ever eaten. Can’t wait to eat that thing again. I don’t think words can describe how incredibly good Pat’s is, but I’ll try anyway: The food is all freshly made, by super lovely people, at a really nicely designed place! There is a good variety of different Sandwich options, really good coffee and equally amazing sweet treats too! A must Visit for anyone in Ballrat :) Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
