I had not heard of Pattaya until a personal possession very near and dear to my heart fell out of my car and was lost. The owner of Pattaya found it and figured out a way to contact me and ensured its return. That day I ordered takeout for the first time and haven't wanted Thai food from anywhere else since. The flavors are well balanced and the food is clean and delicious. Its both satisfying and nourishing. I think they have the best Tom Yum in Philly. I like that you can adjust the spice level on everything and the Somtum (papaya) salad is always crunchy and fresh. They somehow always manage to include juicy sweet tomatoes even in the dead of winter. You won't regret giving Pattaya a try! Be assured that you'll eat something delicious and you can feel good knowing you're supporting a very kind business owner and equally lovely staff! Food: 5

Ordered delivery of mild chicken pad thai and fried bananas for dessert. Ordering mild pad thai was a mistake on my part because it’s devoid of flavor. Ratio of chicken to tofu seemed heavy tofu. Banana dessert was ok—didn’t rock my world. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2

Really disappointing experience with the crab fried rice from Pattaya. I paid an extra $8 for additional crab meat and somehow still spent more time finding shell fragments than actual crab. Every few bites came with another crunch I definitely wasn’t looking for. The rice itself was decent, but paying extra for “more crab” and getting barely any real crab meat was a huge letdown and honestly not worth the price. I’m not trying to bash the restaurant because I know places can have off days, but after this experience I probably won’t be coming back. Wish I took photos but this was about a week ago. Food: 1 Service: 1
