One of the most interesting dining experiences I’ve had in a while, although probably not in a good way. We ordered their signature porridge and finished it. The lid was on the bowl, and the server came over, lifted it, and looked inside without saying anything to us first. I assume he wanted to check whether we were done so he could clear it, but the whole thing felt abrupt and quite rude. The instant he saw the empty bowl, he burst out with, “Oh my god! This is my first time seeing two people finish this!” Very loudly, with other tables sitting nearby. I don’t think he meant anything malicious by it. He seemed genuinely amazed. But it was still a very strange and unprofessional comment to make to customers. I have honestly never been so enthusiastically congratulated for finishing food I paid for. The rest of the meal felt just as rushed. Plates were collected almost immediately after the last bite, without asking. He took mine, then stood nearby and watched my friend finish so he could take hers too. Attentive, technically, but it also felt a little like being supervised while eating. What I can’t get over is that the lowest default tip option was 18%. We’re more than happy to tip for good service, and we still left 18% because it was the minimum option and we didn’t want to make things awkward in the moment. But honestly, the service we received simply wasn’t worth an 18% tip. The food was fine, and the atmosphere was nice. At the beginning of the meal, I was actually thinking this could be a place I would come back to. Unfortunately, the service completely changed that impression. I also noticed that other reviews have mentioned similar service issues, so I really hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously. The food and setting have potential, but the service made it very difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Brunch

What a wonderful brunch at Pears Restaurant! The Chicken and Waffles was great! Truffle Labneh was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was outstanding especially Kezang who was so attentive and friendly! Will definitely be back, next time for dinner! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: $40–50
